Here’s a photo from my visit to the East Coast last summer. I’ve shown a version of this image before in colour, but I think it works really well in black and white also.

As I move my photography’s focus towards landscape and general outdoor subjects, I want also to evolve my images from the “nice snapshot” category towards a more artistic rendering of subjects I encounter. Many might call this “art photography” or “fine art photography,” where the photographer’s vision of a scene overrides the reality of the scene—reality being more in the realm of photojournalism.
